America's Service Commissions (ASC) is convening a briefing regarding national service and volunteering funding hosted by the Offices of the Governors of Iowa and Washington on Thursday, March 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET. The briefing will take place in Room 383/385 at the Hall of States in Washington DC.  For those unable to attend in person, you are encouraged to join by conference call.

Please RSVP by COB on Friday, March 11 whether you plan to attend in person or by conference call at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2016Briefing.  Call log-in instructions and materials will be e-mailed to those joining virtually.

The intended audience for the briefing is Governor's staff and executive directors of state service commissions. 

Briefing Overview:
Overview of state service commissions and their role in expanding service and volunteering opportunities in their respective states.
Review of the FY17 Congressional Budget Justification for the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that provides funding in support of AmeriCorps and other national service programming.
Highlights regarding the relationship between Washington DC Governor's Offices and state service commissions for the states of Iowa and Washington.
