She has dementia and congestive heart failure. I have taken over her POA in last few months due to her prior POA was delinquent in making the necessary payments for her room and board, hence; the establishment forwarded me an eviction letter. Since the first of Sept. I have pursued all avenues trying to find programs my mother may qualify for in helping reduce her outstanding balance and help pay her monthly fees. My mother is a state retired administrative secretary with her total monthly income being $1800.00. She has Medicare and her state retirement insurance, which leaves her unqualified for Medicaid benefits. She does not own any assets and has a minimal $10,000.00 life insurance policy to be paid upon her death. Her monthly bill with McElveen is $2205.00. Since taking over her POA I have contacted McElveen Manor with two letters stating I am working on trying to right this wrong. My siblings state they can send approx. $1000.00 a month. Unfortunately, I am unable to trust this statement due to me taking the POA from them. If they do send this amount it would help decrease her balance in small increments. I am unable to provide her with a safe environment at my home. I live out of town and work a full time job. My income does not allow my to make up the difference either. Anyways, with all this being said, are there any programs I can apply for assistance in helping keep my mother in a safe environment and not have her evicted. I have tried to communicate with corporate on a monthly basis pleaing they be patient with me. This apparently has not helped at all, as I received another letter stating if her balance is not paid by December 9th they will take over her room and its belonging. Any help you can offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your timely response in this matter. V/R Wendy Simmons 66.153.130.227
