Hurricane escape route for the south strand is needed. Originally 73 was to go down the present location of 701. There is NEEDED an evacuation route directly across the Waccamaw river. Access to rte 521 or north or south from here. The traffic is becoming exponentially worse viia rte 17, which travels right through a primarily residential area in this narrow strip of land, never a good route for thru traffic and no egress except via Georgetown or Myrtle beach. This strip of land represents the major financial support for Georgetown county but is ALWAYS last in road building . We GREATLY need an escape route across the Waccamaw, and I do not find this a 'pork barrel' idea. Thank you for your consideration, and hopefully consideration of the recent veto of funds for this project.
