(Columbia) April 20, 2005 - An Aiken County state senator is considering a run for governor and may make an announcement as soon as this weekend.

Senator Tommy Moore (D-Dist. 25) of Clearwater may seek the Democratic nomination to challenge Governor Mark Sanford. An announcement could come on Saturday during the state Democratic Convention in Columbia.

Moore is a 25-year veteran of the state legislature.
