Dear Madam, Sir:
Last year I was in contact with the Governor's office in regard to the Beaufort County DSS and the lack of interest and concern they were suppose to do in regard to child and his mother. The DSS office is very sorry in getting anything done and when, if they even investigate, you never hear the results. The Judge's are wrong in giving a child back to a parent just because they are the biological parent. They need to get s review when they do no consider the facts, just give the child back. This little boy that we had contact with someone in our office or DSS is a "failure to thrive child" having a cough for 2 years since he has been back with his mother and has lost 5 pounds in the last few weeks, and his hair is falling out. DSS is not any better than it was before the Director was let go. You need someone that has some common sense and sees what is happening to these children. They simply want a pay check. This little boy is very unhappy and his mother does not care for him the way he should be. When can he talk with a Judge and tell him or her what is going on in his life. This is a serious matter. This was not addressed like it should have been last year. I would like to have this matter looked into. DSS really is not what it is supposed and especially the one in Beaufort, SC. Also, the Judge's need taken off the bench when they do not consider the welfare of the child. I am a great-grandparent of this child and this has been a continuous ongoing situation with this little boy. He needs to be placed back with his grandparents where he was until the Judge decided he needed to be with his biological mother, bad mistake.
Thank you. Nothing was done several months ago when I contacted this office, and DSS in Beaufort was contacted. What a joke that office is.
