Cox 5 Powder House Lane #2 Manchester MA 01944 gracehbc@aol.com GOVE Taking down Confererate Flag If you have difficulty passing your initiative to take down the Confederate flag, you might strike a compromise by considering the Confederate flag a part of South Carolina's history, and placing it in a historical display either somewhere in the S.C. Statehouse or in a separate building. Just as the Smithsonian shows U.S. history, this building would show S.C.'s history. The Confederate flag could be displayed beside the Union flag (which had fewer stars then) along with words telling the painful story of the Civil War. The Confederate flag IS an important part of history. In part, it represents a practice (slavery) which the Union as a whole has since outlawed. Good luck!
