arrested in plot to smuggle cell phone to inmate

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A prison guard has been
arrested after investigators said he conspired to smuggle a cell
phone to an inmate.
Matthew Davis, 21, of Pelion, was charged with misconduct in
office and violation of the state contraband law.
The State Law Enforcement Division said Davis is accused of
recently accepting money from an inmate to smuggle a cell phone into
the Broad River Correctional Institution.
