CONSERVATION TILLAGE MEETING SCHEDULED

SALUDA---The Saluda County Extension Service invites farmers interested in conservation tillage to attend a special informational meeting on Monday, March 25, 2002, at 7 p.m. at The Barnloft, located on the newly renovated second floor of Saluda Farm and Garden Supply, 508 North Main St., Saluda, SC.

Presenters will include John Bradley-conservation tillage specialist with Monsanto, Bob Rozier-farm services manager with Monsanto, and Ben Knox-no-till farmer and agronomist with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.

A conservation tillage system significantly reduces input costs such as labor, fuel, and equipment maintenance, while producing yields that are equal to or higher than conventional tillage. The long-term benefits of switching to conservation tillage make it very worthwhile. Less tillage means more profit.

Since a ribeye steak supper will be served, participants must register for the Saluda Conservation Tillage Meeting by calling 864-445-8117 by Friday, March 25, 2002.
