I am the Advancement Chair for Boy Scout Troop 79
of the Palmetto Council
in Spartanburg, SC.
I'm writing to
request a congratulatory letter for Winston Bridges who has earned
the
honor of Eagle Scout rank.
Winston's Eagle Scout project was to
build a handicap ramp for the Walnut Grove Plantation Visitor's
Center.
The walkway came out the back door and then split into two directions,
like an upside down 'Y'. The ramp was built on top of this walkway and
also split to provide a
ramp down in either direction. As you can
imagine, it was quite a large project.
Not only did Winston design the
ramp to meet handicap guidelines, he also managed
a group of adults and
younger scouts in the building of it. Many of the younger never
held a
drill before.
Winston is also a member of the Dorman High School
Lacrosse team where he has
been awarded Dorman Lacrosse Player of the
Game. He has accepted early admission
into Clemson University where he
plans to study Physical Therapy.
