I have never understood the confederate flag flying all over South Carolina regardless of what citizens there feel it stands for. It has always symbolized hate, centuries of torture and death to millions everywhere else. The violence at the Spring Valley unified school district yesterday has left me convinced nothing has really changed in the south. The behavior of a grown adult throwing an unarmed student, sitting at a desk no less, was so nefarious and disgusting. How a person with that much hate can be employed only tells me that what occurred yesterday has occurred many times before. I'm not convinced much has really changed in the south from when I was born 50 years ago. Why that kind of odious behavior is still tolerated in the south is beyond me. Its difficult to watch how young Black citizens are still treated as animals there. Its shameful, chris Thomason
