| Two Inmates Shot, Prison Goes On Lockdown |
| (Fairfax) - Two inmates were found with
gunshot wounds Sunday afternoon at the Allendale Correctional
Insitution. Authorities say inmates Dean Ford (left) and George Brown (bottom) were shot as one unit was being released for the evening meal. Ford approached officers saying he was shot and then sent officers over to Brown who was on the floor next to his bed. EMS took both inmates to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital where Ford was released. Brown is still in the hospital. Allendale spokesman Charlie Sheppard says the jail is still on lock-down and will be for the next few days. He says they have not found the weapon but are searching the grounds for a small handgun. |
