To whom it may concern:

I am an Air Force Veteran from Charleston, SC. I have lived here a good 90% of my life and have watched my city and state grow in my 30 years of living. At one point I was proud to call myself a Charlestonian and wanted to do any and everything for this city. But I've come to the unfortunate realization that this city and state doesn't care about me. During my release from the Air Force, when I was unemployed for almost 2 years I got a taste of how the unemployment system worked, it wasn't perfect but it was a hell of alot better than it is now. Fast forward to today, I've now been unemployed for a little over 5 months and haven't received a "benefit" check because I was disqualified because my employer pushed for it. That in itself is total bull, I can work for a company and give my all to them only to be fired and then denied my benefits I EARNED! But the icing on the cake, I called unemployment office and was told that my STATE benefits have been TAKEN from me and that I have to wait on the federal option, REALLY?!?! So I NEVER use my benefits but they were taken from me, ALL of it! Thank you for all that you do to NOT help your veterans, but more so your people...continue to do a BANG UP JOB!
