My name is Aliya Fitz;I am a single mother of 2 children with disabilities 11yrs and 8 yrs.  I live in Summerville, SC.I am a special needs bus driver for Dorchester District 2, this is my fourth school year.On Friday 9/18/2015, I was driving my bus and BMW was coming down the road and turned into a driveway and put her car in reverse.I slowed to let her come out; she stopped to let me keep going,she gunned it in reverse in front of my bus.I had to slam on the breaks suddenly; I laid on the horn to stop her from hitting her.She backed right into my bus then pulled off fast.I followed her block while calling out her tag info to my dispatcher to send someone.My supervisor (which is not the safety supervisor) showed up about 15 minutes later,asked what happened and I told her. The other driver did not produce insurance information,and I noticed that her license plates were dead (5/2015). The police asked me if anyone was on the bus at the time.I told him yes and I gave him all students name,DOB,and age.He asked where they were and the supervisor told him that she got them transported to school.The other driver was found at fault. My supervisor (Carla Campbell) nor the safety supervisor was not in their office, so I could report being hurt.I told the safety supervisor that afternoon.Carla asked me "how you are hurt when I you were stopped when she hit you."I told her I had to slam on brakes and come to a sudden stop to avoid hitting her when she gunned it in reverse and hit me.We went to the hospital and my daughter had whiplash of the neck and sore arm.Carla said she had to pull the tape to see if I got hurt and she had to watch video before the incident occurred and I seen something she didn't like 15 minutes prior to me even getting to the neighborhood,I was sitting at a 7 minute long light, where the turning lanes are divided by the other lanes.I wiped around me w/sanitizer wipe.I secured my bus undone my belt and quickly leaned to wipe the handrail next to me to stop the spread of germs. She placed me on suspension.What I did was no different than any other driver in our district who has to pull over in a median when they have discipline problems to get the children under control, which is always done by all drivers.She didn't believe I was hurt and was trying to find any reason to get rid of me to not pay me for getting hurt.
At this point I will be on the street with my two children.
