Making it mandatory for clocking in and out with State clients these caregivers now have to have acquire a cell phone with the capabilities and monthly service plan to accommodate the Authenticare phone app. This has added an extra expense for many who are already living paycheck to paycheck. Not only are they having to pay a new or upgrade a monthly bill but many are having to buy a new phone due to the app requirements needed to work properly. This is a job killer and leaving some with no option but to leave a career they have been with for decades. As a State that prides itself in being for job growth, I was astonished that no one took the time to see the ramifications of requiring something like this on a State level.
