COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A Lexington native has been
named director of the state's coastal regulatory agency, becoming the
first woman to head the office.
Carolyn Boltin, 33, begins work as head of the Office of Ocean and
Coastal Resource Management on Aug. 2. The office is a division of the
Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Boltin replaces Chris Brooks, who resigned last fall.
The agency considers environmental permits for coastal development.
