I joined with David and others to demand the resignation of Donnie Myers, 11th circuit solicitor. Mr Myers, an elected official recently charged with DUI, is a gross embarrassment to the citizens and taxpayers of Lexington County. I hope you join with me and others who are outraged and angry if Mr Myers continues in office. We demand his resignation immediately while at the same time we hope he participates in treatment to solve his drinking problems. Once he completes treatment/rehab, we hope he gets involved with educating children and the general public about the horrific dangers and consequences of driving under the influence. Consider calling his office (785-8352), like I just did, to demand his resignation. Consider contacting your legislators, like I just did, asking them to intervene to the best of their ability to convince Mr Myers to resign immediately. We don't need or deserve elected officials SERVING us, like Mr Myers, who have been charged three times with DUI offenses. If you listen to David Longstreet and others who have experienced the horrors of drunken drivers you cannot be unaffected by the "life sentence" they and their families endure daily and for the rest of their lives. We don't need Mr Myers driving on our roads; we don't need to see more killing and injuries perpetuated by dysfunctional people of Mr Myers' ilk.
