I'm writing in regards to the current legal "rights" of registered sex offenders, and in favor of what should be the rights of families and children. As I have read in state law documents,I believe the current location to a school/daycare/establishment  in which children congregate is 1,000 feet.
With this said, there is a facility, that was a daycare, that is currently a church, houses an Upward Sports center and a Family climbing gym, and has been the practice/performance theatre for my children's school. This school is currently in process of moving to this building, which I reiterate is already a family activity area, is located (by roads and not by straight line) .6 miles from the house of a registered offender. As a mother of two girls, one close to the age of his victum, I am worried and outraged that the distance he is allowed to live to these places, as well as the fact he is living in our neighborhood. I, as a parent, feel that the radius should be expanded to, if not more, a distance of one mile from a place where children are. I for one feel that this person has already violated the rights of a child, why should he be allowed aces to areas where other children reside, play and are educated? There are atleast 3 offenders within a mile of this area.6655 pottery rd. Spartanburg SC 29303.
