the reason why I'm writing is because something has to be done about these labor laws. Ive been up and down the east coast and this area has got to be the worst place. It seems like every builder likes these 1099's. Clemson / Anderson area.
What I'm proposing is a model simaler to Naples Fl, every worker was covered for workers comp. up here it's a battle, it could be a lot easier if builders used a payroll service that offers comp. taking taxes out ect. This system of conducting buisness is beyond old and crooked for everyone involved. 
The county code enforcement needs to be a lot more active making sure these builders and sub-contractors have workers comp and proper license.
