Hello, and thank you for taking time to read this email. I'm writing Governor Hailey regarding a wonderful teacher who is retiring from Bellview Elementary in Rock Hill, SC after many years of service in the Palmetto state. Her name is Gerri Hillis and she has committed her life to opening the eyes of elementary students to the world of art and touching many hearts. She isn't the type to ever expect recognition and has quietly changed many lives along the way. When she is not devoting her time to "her kids," she is volunteering her time and little money to her church and helping the under privileged. I myself work in physical therapy in Greenville, SC after being brought up by this amazing mother who always stressed helping those in need. I would truly appreciate any recognition we could bestow upon Gerri as she puts the finishing touches on a true masterpiece of a career and starts a new life of well deserved retirement.
