On May 13, 2015 my daughter went to Meineke located at 1411 W Floyd Baker Blvd in Gaffmey SC 29341. She paid for rotors and brakes and upon leaving the establishment she was involved in a car accident and ticketed for defective brakes. ( officer T.A. Hamrick badge 808 troop 4 ticket H 306582). meineke was informed on the scene of what happened,as the trooper called for a tow truck. the tow truck was from Hames wrecker service 201 Dr LM Rosemond Lane Gafney SC. My daughter wastoldby both Meineke and Nathan Lanning that the car would go to Hames because they did business with each other all the time. After waiting 3 weeks to hear from Meineke, she was told the manager was not in, then several weeks later told the owner would call. He never did and now it is Mid June. We contacted Hames trucking and was told Meineke never sent anyone to look at the vehicle and that they were owed $2500.00 for towing and storage. We contacted meineke again and was told again, the owner was not available. My son and daughter went to Hames towing a week later and officers from Gaffney Police department were called due to the colorful metaphors and racial remarks made by Mr. Lanning. When the officer arrived, he and my son were told, ( Verbatim - I don't have to give you any statement and if you want your car you need to give me $3000.00 or take your Black N$##@$ A&& off my property). Meinekes position is since we are seeking legal assistance they refuse to deal with this matter anymore. They also said, as of today, they looked over the car and it has brake fluid in the the line so they are not responsible. We have been trying to locate a reputable attorney to handle this case, I called the SC Bar Reffereal Service and got the name of an attorney that did not have any interest in the case, on June 4, 2015, Andrew Hart. Receipt #069203, I was told by using the referral the cost would be $40.00, which is what we paid, yet when the company that financed the car phoned Mr.Hart, they were told they'd never heard of us and that we had never come to them for any matters dealing with a vehicle. We have spoken to Jon B white you instantly referred us to Max Hyde, who was not available and would not be for sometime. In the interim, we are having to face murder from a Dylann Roof Supporter not of our choosing, A rip off of charges for brakes and rotors, extortion of storage fees we should not have, towing fees we should not have, Financing disaster we should not have, medical bills we should not have, Rental purchase charges we should not have.....and all could have been resolved or never occurred had the brakes and rotors actually been put on the vehicle. To date, Meineke says the car is in good shape and drivable. I have pictures of the vehicle that I feel you need to see. It is July and meineke states the car is on good shape. No. The only people who could do anything with this car at this point is a scrap yard. Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter. I look forward to further communication from the Governors Office staff as to how to handle this very real threat and bad public corruption situation. Sincerely, Lynda Harper
