The people of South Carolina have appreciated your hard work and will be sad to have you move on but we are proud of you and your accomplishments. I'm writing, again this year, to show my support for the H3235 bill that will be submitted to the House and hopefully passed this year. My fiance', Charles Judd, has been incarcerated since 2006 within the SCDC, he is currently located at Macdougall Correctional Institution. He was advised by his public defender to plead guilty to the charges he was accused of, even though he was not guilty of them, and that they would be dropped to a lesser charge. The charges were not dropped to a lesser charge and he is now serving in his 11th year for a crime he did not commit. In the last 11 years Charles has done a lot of personal development, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. He teaches classes, mentors, works closely with our church that volunteers at Macdougall, helps coordinate the M.A.C (Men Acheiving Character) unit. He has long since paid for the crime he committed. His family is really the ones paying the price though, his daughters have had no supervison, no father figure in their life and a mother on drugs (his first wife). They are following a similar path now that they're in their teens and susceptible to peer pressure. I need him home as I am feeling the stress of managing our home, business and children on my own. The financial burden that comes with a significant other incarcerated is debilitating at times. If the Bill is passed Charles will have served enough time to come home even if it is dropped to 75%. He has 2 years left. That is $32,000 the state could save and more importantly it would save 5 children as well. Your consideration before you move forth with your new position would mean the world to us. Thank you and God bless, Jennifer Fore-Brown
