Education Lawsuit Resumes in Manning
(Manning-AP) -- Manning Senator John Land says South Carolina has never given its schools enough money to adequately educate its children.

Land testified in Manning on Monday in a lawsuit filed by eight mostly rural school districts that contend the state has not provided them with enough money.

Land says the General Assembly has never done all it could to find money to fund education at the levels required by law.

Land has served in the General Assembly for nearly 30 years. He is the first to testify as trial resumed in the lawsuit.

He says the state should study each school district to determine how much each district needs. Land says a one-size-fits all policy
won't work for every school district.
