SCDNR youth deer clinic reaches capacity, offers hands-on activitiesOctober 3, 2016

The free youth deer clinic took place on Oct. 1.
This past weekend, SCDNR partnered with Simpson's Hardware and Sports to host a free youth deer clinic at Atkinson's Farm in Sumter, S.C.
The clinic was a success with 25 kids attending, filling up all of the available spots. Participants got hands-on experience with tree stand safety, SCDNR's UP2U litter campaign seminar, gear use, laws and regulation, blood-trailing, game prep, cooking, and shooting. The day was capped off with an on-site game lunch, and participants received prize bags from Simpson's Hardware and Sports.
The next youth deer clinic will be hosted in Georgetown County on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Registration is limited to the first 25 youth. For more information or to register, contact Lt. Kim Leverich at LeverichK@dnr.sc.gov or 843-870-5574.
