Dear Governor Haley, I am so sad that Congress did not pass a bill that would have closed the loopholes in gun sales by gun shows , internet sales, straw sales, and most importantly back ground checks. Americans by a very large margin wanted it. Nothing happened!
Congress did not care! Today I support what happened with the President. It needed to happen! I had great hope that the Republican Congress would have done this earlier.
However I am watching Republicans along with my co-workers, my friends and family to hear and watch how the Republicans speak on this. I would only hope they respect what President Obama did. It is the lack of Congress not acting on this and must either take responsibility for it or support this bill and the President.
What I will say, if they do not when we as Americans have wanted this for years the Republican will be seen on a negative light. I am not happy to see such anger and divide that has happened. Even President Reagan supported back ground checks.
Who are the Republicans today? Not the ones I have stood with over the years. And maybe I will not stand with again depending on how they handle what we all have wanted. I ask you all to please remember this is big. It will depend on the words of how Republicans speak on this if I ever vote for a Republican again along with my co workers, my friends , my family.
