I am writing as a parent, coach and employee of Barnwell School District 45, to express my opposition to the use or impairment of the State's general fund to pay for improvement of the State's transportation system. South Carolina has some of the lowest gas prices in the nation, however, keeping the prices low at the expense of the schools in South Carolina is not a win-win situation. We implore you to reconsider you decision to drop the gas tax and take money out of the general fund to fund transportation needs. Please put EDUCATION FIRST.
