Good Afternoon Governor Haley,

My name is Eliza Ann Williams, Executive Director of Show Them We Care Foundation. The foundation is in the second year of approval of a TASC (Teen After School Center). All of our volunteers have been approved by DJJ. However, myself have not because of an issue with the background check. This issue didn't stopped the approval in 2001. With my experience and dedication in the community and service with youth from 1998 until present, I feel I should be approved. If I am not approved by December 31, 2014 the partnership with DJJ will be dismissed.  Show Them We care Foundation has and still making a positive impact on the community with the partnership by utilizes the programs that DJJ has in place.

Our goal is to reach as many youth as well as families as possible so they can have good lives and become good positive citizens. A large number of our youth becomes victims of gangs, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying and other types of negative activities that occurs in the neighborhood and communities.

Show Them We care is located in a very challenging community. The partnership with DJJ is making a very strong team, building rapport and trust within the community. I, Eliza Williams ask that you will do what you can to help me get approved through DJJ. I have References to include school principals where we are active in helping with their students.
