We the family found this out when she was involved in an vehicle accident here in NC on October 6, 2015. She was sentenced in Horry County to 2.5 years and we paid $5000 on her restitution. We were told it would be 51% of the 2.5 years? She is 40 years old, has 2 children ages 8 and 14 months, lost her $18 a hour job and her house. I understand she did follow through on her obligations with the court but it's this a a little harsh for a non violent crime? We also ran her record here in NC and its clean no problems. We were not able to speak to the judge (he wouldn't allow us to speak) and Wendy nor the family knows how much time will be served. Under Nikki law is it 41% or 51%? We (her mother and 80 year old grandfather) have the children and have concerns on her sentence. She is currently in Graham R&E in Columbia SC. Any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated.
