SOUTH CAROLINA HORSEMEN’S COUNCIL TRAIL RIDE November 17-19
(SUMTER, SC)---On Saturday, November 18, 2000, the South Carolina Horsemen’s Council (SCHC) will host its Annual Trail Ride at 10 AM at Manchester State Forest, Highway 261, South of Sumter.
The horseback trail will cover approximately 15 miles, and a wagon train for those who choose not to ride a horse will follow a different route. Both will converge in an open area at 12:30 PM where participants can enjoy a brown bag lunch from home or purchase a sandwich and other items on site from the chuck wagon.
After lunch, the horse and wagon train rides will continue on the second leg of the trails and meet back at the camp around 3:30 PM. Participants will have exceptional educational opportunities after the ride. Experts will be available to discuss Trails, Trailer Safety, Disaster Preparedness and Packing and Rigging for the Trail. A catered dinner will be served at 6 PM followed by dancing and socializing with great entertainment from one of South Carolinas most popular groups.
The fee for the day-long ride which includes the evening dinner and terrific live entertainment is only $20 for SCHC members and $25 for non-members. Children under 10 will be admitted free with an adult. The same great accommodations will be provided.
The gates will open at 10 AM on Friday, November 17, for those who wish to camp for the weekend. The park will close at 3 PM on Sunday.
