I am a Military Motorcycle Safety Rep as well as a Motorcycle Safety Foundation Certified safety instructor and I get really tired of seeing report after report of motorcycle deaths in SC due to blunt force trauma to the head, we need to mandate the use of DOT approved helmets in this state. it's a proven fact that helmets save lives and we must act to prevent more deaths, the population is on the rise in Charleston and more people means more drivers and drivers do not look out for bikers so we are at the mercy of our skills and our safety equipment which too many riders choose not to wear unless they have to. please come up with some legislation to mandate the use of motorcycle helmets in SC.
