So much so that I have given you my sacred VOTE. Now, I am asking that you rethink your stand on the Confederate flag. That flag is part of our Southern heritage, and outside elements are trying to force "political correctness" on us. Americans are utterly fed up with political correctness. That flag does not represent racism and hate. As a life long South Carolinian and Charleston resident until two years ago, I am horrified, disgusted and undone by the events that took place in Charleston at AME Emmanuel. But those events have nothing to do with the flag. It is a completely separate issue. Outside agents such as Al Sharpton and the NAACP were, for all intents and purposes, run out of Charleston and were unable to stir up racial strife and unrest, so they are now concentrating their efforts on the flag issue, and attempting to paint us as racists if we don't give in to their pressure. I am strongly urging you not to give it to that pressure and leave our flag alone! Thank you. Sincerely, Betty E. Boesch Greenville
