I commend you on having a Law Enforcement Liaison for DSS and your choice was great.  I've known Jackie Swindler all my life. Now, what you also need is the same thing for schools.  I've been a teacher and administrator for 40 years and I know that often schools are left out of the loop on child welfare when school personnel spend more hours per day with kids than their parents do.  You need someone to be the point of contact for schools and DSS and I know just the person for that job.  Someone who knows people all over the state in every school district and who has experience.

Call me...I'd love to talk.

Also, I have a better idea about how to get quality teachers in places like Allendale.  First year teaches cannot survive there...there is no housing available, discipline is bad and most importantly, administration is poor.  What you need is to consolidate several of those smaller districts, use Salkehatchie Consortium (now defunct)and get stronger leadership.  Again, call me.  I'd love to share my thoughts and experience from having been there for 12+ years.
