I believe this is a) a relic of the past prior to equal treatment based on gender, b) another control mechanism used by the dept of corrections that applies only to men, c) assumes only men may have head lice. The average citizen could really care less what SC does with convicted felons once they go to prison, as long as humane treatment is administered, but if we are to progress towards equality of gender, then equal treatment should be followed by all state agencies, period. I am surprised there have not been lawsuits already. I move the governor have the dept of corrections treat inmates equally regardless of gender. Thanks, Eric
