I am a taxpayer and citizen of SC. the latest news of your accepting federal monies for the resettlement program and allowing the Lutheran Organization to let Syrian refugees settle in our state is going against the will of the vast majority of taxpayers of our state. I do not know anyone at this time who wish to have these people settle in our state. They are not properly screened, the Health Dept. is not making certain they are up to date on shots , checking them for aides and other diseases that we know have been brought into other communities, burden on our schools and healthcare system. Dr. Ben Carson stated that these people wish to have a "safe zone" close to their country where they can return.Many of these refugees do not assimilate into our culture. I do not want my tax dollars for this program! If there is indeed monies available, then give it to the Veterans, homeless and reduce the taxes in our state! Please be responsible and do your job with integrity. Stand with the citizens of SC and fight this program. Let these people apply for citizenship, be properly vetted, learn the English language and WANT to become a part of the American culture. Thank you! Nita Zachow
