Good morning,

I write today regarding President Obama's proposed enhanced security measures on gun sales.  I am a proponent of responsible gun ownership.  I come from a military family and have relatives involved in local police and ATF (Seattle, WA).  I have lost friends to gun violence (5yo childhood friend shot in an act of random gang violence and high school classmate killed in a territory dispute), accidental gun deaths (5th grade schoolmate accidentally shot himself while packing a gun for school), and cared for a number of children critically injured by gun related accidents and crimes.  The specifics of gun rights need to take regional factors into consideration and though the president's proposal is unlikely to make a major impact on gun deaths, it is a common sense measure that will make it a little more difficult for criminals to access lethal weapons.  Politics aside, I do hope you will support it.
