Gov. Haley:
    I have been informed that my sister(Deborah Boggs Harwell) has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for contempt of court in Horry county without bail. She is in a battle with former Hon. David Harwell's sons over a post death divorce case. Its my understanding she wants nothing materially from David's estate and that she was sentenced for going to see David when they were still married and while David's son U.S. District court judge R. Bryan Harwell had a court order issued so my sister could not see David. My sister was appointed as the Gen. mgr. of our cousin's business on Lake Norman because of his declining health and this did take time away from David and his declining health, so Deborah was constantly burning the road up days and nights to try and give David her help and our cousin help as well. David and our cousin Jack passed away within months of eachother and this has put a heavy weight on my sister's mind and physical health thinking she could have done more.
    I'm afraid my sister is only guilty of wanting to see her husband and check on his needs and health and this has cost her reputation, the business while being held in Horry county and possibly much more than we will realize at this time. There is a definite misuse of South Carolina judicial powers within and around this case and I think it is a shame that something like this can even happen. Other judges and attorneys will bend to the wishes of Bryan because of his status and family name. No one in South Carolina wants to go up against the Harwells, not even my sister. It was very hard for her to hire an attorney when she realized she needed one because they are afraid it will hurt them taking a case against Bryan. Gov. Haley I am not an educated man of degree, but I do know when something is not right and South Carolina is a great state, don't let this happen. Thank you for your time.
