But for goodness sake, please move the monument and flag off the front door steps and into the cool trees off to the side where it should have gone 15 years ago. Dragging the flag issue into the shocking Charleston church murders is only going to cause more hard feelings and heated arguments. Do not let the murderous young killer trick us into getting his stated objective. Our churches have a cross displayed on them, and the racist KKK would burn it to frighten minorities--but their inappropriate use of the cross will never make us take it down. We are smart enough to know the difference. Best wishes through these hard times and hold your head up high; real South Carolinians have no reason to be ashamed.
