Haley, Annually, my family travels thru the fine state of South Carolina on our trips to Florida. Last April, while returning home from a golf trip in Florida, I stopped and purchased a SC lottery ticket for my wife (she was not along and I typically buy a few tickets from the different states along the way). When she scratched her ticket she won $20. Now we were heading back down in December and stopped to redeem the ticket. We were told the game was closed. Typically you have a year, but the fine print on this game only had 90 days to redeem. I wrote to the address on the back of the ticket to explain this and just received a letter basically saying sorry game closed. You would think good customer service and tourist relations, they would have redeemed the ticket. I understand the rules on the back and the timing, but I truly wonder how often this occurs. Regardless, I thought I would drop you a line and make you aware of this. We typically stop overnight on our trips to Florida in South Carolina as this is a good mid point for us. We spend the night, have dinner and breakfast, gas up and head on our way. I know its not much, but something like this might make my family think a little different about where we stop on our trips to Florida. Wishing all the best, Peter Kohut
