T.L. Hanna High School anglers assist with FLW Tour Hartwell weigh-in
Think about throwing out the first ball at the World Series or tossing the coin for the Super Bowl and you'll get an idea of the honor recently bestowed on the T.L. Hanna High School anglers as they assisted with the weigh-in at the prestigious Walmart FLW Tour on Lake Hartwell presented by Folgers on March 11. Noah Caulder, Derek Freeman and Noah Wilson were all on hand at the weigh-in at the TD Center in Greenville.
It was a great experience and a behind-the-scenes look at the world of professional angling as Brent Ehrler of Redlands, Calif., won the tournament with a combined 4 day weight of 74 pounds, 13 ounces. He won $100,000 plus the Ranger Cup of $25,000. He has over $1.8 million in career earnings.
Pure Fishing is a major sponsor of the FLW tour and also sponsors Youth Bass Fishing Clubs in partnership with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and The Bass Federation of South Carolina with help and support from parents, teachers, school districts, local bait & tackle shops, community partners.
Start a Youth Bass Fishing Club at your school by getting a minimum of six students (within the 11-18 year old range) with dues paid. You'll also need an adult at your school to help lead the club, provide advice and help arrange at least two club tournaments, fundraisers, speakers and other learning sessions pertaining to fishing for club meetings.
