Hailey, This is my second plea for help. I did receive a previous email stating that environmental services and DHEC would receive my previous information. I knew it wouldn't take long for the water to turn bad again. About one week is how far we made it. We are attending the county council meeting this evening to voice our concerns to them, and the city council meeting again next Tuesday. WLTX and the Sumter Item newspaper have run stories on this as well last week. We created a Facebook page for residents to post pictures and such. In just a few days we have 211 likes to the page. Plenty of videos and photos if you look at the visitor posts. Any posts by the page itself is rosemary and myself. If you saw WIS' story our of Columbia, SC last week with Ms. Baker, she had her water tested independently in Feb of 2016 and her water came back with iron levels exceeding EPA guidelines and lead levels just a sliver under EPA allowance. We quickly got in touch with her, spoke with her for a few waters and she is teamed up with us now to help us spearhead this fight. I also was given the Sumter annual water quality report last week and all samples are from throughout Sumter, not specifically from our affected area and the samples were pulled from 2014 and 2015. So that tells me nothing. The city says it's iron and manganese in our water... But I have not seen a report that says it's only that The annual report doesn't even have iron and manganese as tested items. www.facebook.com/sumterwaterconcerns I inquired last week to the city about supplying those affected with bottled water and I have not received an answer. No timeline for remedies from the city. No returned emails or phone calls from the county council. The city has "pinged" my house and my neighbor Rosemary's house as daily water test sites apparently. We let them test and they have been giving us immediately test results. And of course they are good results because the water has barely been tinted yellow or clear. I would love to see if they test now that we're affected again. The daily reports we received so far are only being tested for iron, ph and free chlorine. My water is still decent for the moment. Rosemary's was bad yesterday along with others that you can see on the Facebook page that said they were having problems. But as much as I hate hate hate the yellow brown water.... I am waiting for mine to turn so I can get my own water tested. I contacted a lab hours from the city to be my site for testing. To have my water efficiently tested, will cost me about $300. I'm willing to pay it to drive a point home to the city. We want everyone to know that the city keeps putting band-aids on a larger problem by flushing nearby hydrants when the water becomes discolored. They say at some point they are looking into doing a flush of their system by opening every fire hydrant on our side of town. That's the only thing we've heard... and it seems like that's an even bigger band-aid. We need to hear timelines and plans for a permanent fix. Very Respectfully, Brianna Carter 2532278908 174.107.232.116
