After we bought the house my parner, Mal Phillips, who retired from a 24 year practice of Labor and employment law,wen tot then then "acting "police Chief for Anderson to report a "crack" house around the block. Surprisingly the acting police chief , who is now the police chief , told him that they were aware of the situation ; that they were working with the home owner, tolerating the situation because of the information flowing from informants and undercover police. That was three years ago. Now there seemingly is another crack house several door down; there was a murder at one two months ago. And not only is this going on in a historic area(our house was built in 1860 and is completely restored)it is across the street from a high-school level vocational school. The school is well aware of this. Though we have gone back to the chief about this he now won't meet with us. We don't think this is the sort of law "enforcement" Governor Haily would approve of. And we need the Governor's help. Corruption, incompetence or whatever, this is a situation for which a bright light needs to be shown on. And we will do just that. We are in the process of contacting Channel 4, Fox News and really anyone else who'll listen. We'd like to be able to say the Governor's Office took some kind of interest. I'll be out of the town in the weeks to come. Please contact Mal Phillips 828 200 2642 should you wish to discuss this further. If we do not here from the Governors office in the week to come we will assume there is no interest and will act accordingly. Thank you.
